DutyMan has many settings so that you can configure it to meet your exact needs. This topic provides a quick run-through of those that you need to get started. They are all in the >Set Up menu. For more details click
on the settings pages.
>Set Up >Club
Check that your Club name and the (optional) Roster name
are correct and amend them if necessary.
Check that Address for emails
from members is correct. This is the email address that your members
use to communicate with their DutyMan administrator.
Choose the appropriate
Date Format.
>Set Up >Notifications
Leave Notify as No until you are ready to introduce
your members to DutyMan.
Preview the welcome messages that DutyMan sends to your members. You
may want to add your own text, which you can type in and preview.
>Set Up >Duties
Setting specifically about duties. Consider setting Default for Swap Wanted to Yes. This will allow members to volunteer for all unallocated duties. You can override this for individual duties.
>Set Up >Reminders
Choose how many duty reminders you want to send – one or two – and how many days
before the event the reminders are to go out. You can also customise reminders by
providing your own instructions. These instructions are included all reminder
emails. You can also add duty specific instructions when you set up your
duties.
>Set Up >Duty Swapping
Ticking the box Duty Swapping Enabled controls whether your members
can swap duties and volunteer for unallocated duties. Enter email addresses in
Club Notify for those within your club or organisation who are to be
informed by email when members swap or volunteer. We recommend that the other options
on this page are left with their default settings for now.
>Set Up >Duty Types
Consider using Listed duty types. They not only ensure consistent naming of duties but also give you greater control over how duties are presented in the roster.
>Set Up >Additional Features
This is where you enable advanced DutyMan features.
>Set Up >Member Info Definitions
Extend your member database by adding your own Items of Additional Member Information or Infos for short.
>Set Up >Privacy and Data Protection
These important settings allow you to implement your club or organisation's Privacy and Data Protection policy within DutyMan and communicate that policy to members.
>Set Up >Security and Passwords
Settings to protect your information within DutyMan.
>Set Up >Preferences
Customise the look of your DutyMan web pages.
