Upload the Duties

Transfer the file of duties from your computer to DutyMan by going to >Upload and following the on-screen instructions.

Steps 1 and 2 identify your file and transfer it to the DutyMan server.

Step 3: Set the update options

DutyMan recognises the file as Uploading duties only and enables the upload options.

Update mode is a very important option when subsequently updating your roster, but for the initial upload use the default of Add. The key point to understand is that Replace removes all duties from the roster and replaces them with the ones you are uploading. Any duties not in the upload file are removed. There are warnings for this!

Choose the default of Yes for Members can volunteer for unallocated duties but note that this does not override the setting at >Set Up >Duty Swapping .

Step 4: Check

DutyMan alerts you if there are errors in your file. Examples of errors include incorrect column headings or member names not in the list of members. Correct any errors and try again.

Step 5: Update

Your roster is now safely stored in the DutyMan database. You can view it at >Roster. If you need to make changes simply amend your csv file and upload it again.
